EXCELLENT COUNSELLING PROVIDED BY CHENNAI BASED MARRIAGE ADVISORY COUNCIL

EXCELLENT COUNSELLING BY MARRIAGE ADVISORY COUNCIL

V. M. Khaleelur Rahman

The Marriage Advisory Council successfully conducted 2 day premarital counsellors training programme on 30th and 31st January 2016 at Asha Nivas, Rutland Gate in Chennai.  Alhamdulillah.

It is learnt that total participants in the 2 days training workshop were 102 men and women from different parts of Tamil Nadu.

The Marriage Advisory Council is doing a great service to the community by providing excellent counselling to prospective brides and bride grooms at the present time when there is an abnormal increase in the divorce cases. One feels that by giving proper advice and guidance in the light of the holy Quran and Ahaadith Insha Allah marriages can be saved from collapse. Divorce is the worst thing. It is said that heaven is shaken when divorce is pronounced.

When there is a clear system  for divorce in the case of an absolute necessity, resorting to senseless and hasty triple divorce is highly condemnable according to all schools of  thought. Because of immaturity and ignorance, some angry husbands take to this and regret later. The Marriage Advisory Council is trying to educate the youngsters and their parents how a married life can be made happy and blissful as per Islamic procedures.

The Marriage Advisory Council needs the support and guidance of the community particularly ulamas to effectively implement and bring in more professional trained marriage counsellors in all areas of Tamil Nadu.

Engineer P.K. Shabbir Ahmed

Our ulama can highlight the destruction the family disputes and separations have brought to the community. Both husband and wife have to follow a give and take policy in a married life. Prophet Mohammed (sal-am) is the best example for it.

The Council appeals to everyone to come forward and network for this need of the hour taking into consideration the present alarming rates of marriages falling apart and affecting our homes and community.

May Allah keep our homes protected and bless our families  with  happiness.

Chennai Leather Market - February 2016

CHENNAI LEATHER MARKET

V.M. Khaleelur Rahman

Chennai leather market is normal without any big change. Exporters of leather and leather products, from Chennai and other States, who have orders with them, show interest for E.I. tanned and wet blue goat and sheep skins at different prices depending on quality and selection.

The leather industry as a whole is focusing its attention on the 31st India International Leather Fair (IILF) to be held at Chennai Trade Fair, Chennai from 1st to 3rd February 2016. As usual a large number of manufacturers of machinery, chemicals, leather and leather products etc. from home and abroad are to exhibit their products in the fair. It is going to be yet another excellent meeting place for the people connected with the leather industry.

It is noteworthy that IILF is getting increased popularity year by year from different countries of the world. Many industrialists of India and other countries make it a point to participate in it without fail.

E.I. Tanned Goat Skins

Local tanners are able to sell their Lots at around Rs.75 and Run/V/IF/LIF at Rs.90/80/70/60 per sq. ft. respectively. These are only just indications. Prices may vary depending on quality and selection. There is good demand for Linings at around Rs.48 and Suedes are sold at around Rs.50 per sq. ft. Local Rejections and Langdas are moving slowly as big North Indian customers are not in the market. However some business has taken place in these items at Rs.30 and 24 per sq. ft. Goods are easily available to buyers.

A leading tanner is offering his goods as follows:

Goat V/IF and LIF 60/40% Rs.75 per sq. ft.

Stout Suede 8 sq. ft. Rs.57 and 5/7 Suede Rs.54 per sq. ft.

5/8 H/G Suede Rs.46 per sq. ft.

Raw skins

In raw centres throughout the country prices of raw hides and skins are lower but tanners prefer to buy only good quality items by inspection.

In many centres of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh the prices of raw goat skins are ruling at around Rs.140 per piece. So is the condition in many other States. But in many centres in Tamil Nadu and some other States where quality is good, prices are much higher.

Export Contracts

It is learnt that some exporters have sold their S/C and F/C goat upper leathers at around US$ 2.50 and Lining leathers at around US$ 1.60 per sq. ft. These are the regular prices at which customers have been buying for long.

As far as business with Japan is concerned, just one or two exporters seem to have sold their big size Suede leathers All Suede and Rejection Suede at around JY 240 and 140 per sq. ft. C&F. but generally speaking business is difficult.

Exporters feel that a lot has to be done by the industry and the governments at the Centre and in the States to set right the setbacks in growth and export.

Quotations of exporters are as follows:

All Suede 6/8 sq. ft. JY245, 5/7 sq. ft. JY235 and 4/7 sq. ft. JY230, per sq. ft. C&F

DR. FAIZ AHMED, THE MASTER ARCHITECT

KUDOS TO DR. FAIZ AHMED, THE MASTER ARCHITECT OF PERNAMBUT

V.M. Khaleelur Rahman

Dr. Faiz Ahmed C is to be felicitated for his excellent educational achievements on 6th February 2016 in a function to be held at 6.00 p.m. in A.S. Hall, Pernambut. Padma Shri Mr.  Mecca Rafeeque Ahmed, Chairman, Farida Group of Companies, is to be the Chief Guest in it and felicitate him.

This function has been arranged by Talent Identification and Empowerment Trust (TIET) which is really doing a very great service to encourage, educate and empower youngsters.

It is in the fitness of things that a great architect is to be felicitated by a great industrialist Mr. Mecca Rafeeque Ahmed who is the recipient of Padma Shri. Alhamdulillah – all praise and thanks be to Allah.

These gentlemen have worked hard to achieve their goals and Allah has blessed them with what they wanted. The holy Quran says in verse 13:11 - Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.

Pernambut has the credit of producing brilliant people in scientific as well as spiritual areas. In this town we can see people who are typically backward, highly orthodox with their own brand of religious education and also those who are well qualified in medicine, science and technology of which there is great emphasis in the holy Quran.

This town has produced many doctors, practising lawyers, engineers, businessmen, tanners, architects, professors, teachers, technicians and even a pilot as far as I know.

Dr. Faiz Ahmed hails from a respectable family connected with the leather industry. His father is Mr. C. Farooque Ahmed, son of Mr. C. Abdur Rasheed, younger brother of Mr. C. Abdullah who was a well known leather merchant of his time in Periamet, Chennai.

A time was there when Muslim business men vied with one another in giving charities and donations for public and humanitarian causes. Mr. C. Abdullah was one of them. It is said that once he agreed to donate Rs.5000, a big amount at that time, for the building fund of a mosque.

After sometime when Mr. C. Abdullah was approached for the amount, he asked his CEO Mr. P.K. Obedur Rahman, who was his son in law, to pay the amount. He hesitated because the company could not afford to donate that big amount. He told him in private “if we pay this amount, we will have to close the company”. Lo! The philanthropist asked him to pay the amount as promised for a noble cause !!!

Born in this respectable family, Dr. Faiz Ahmed C has proved his mettle in the education field and brought laurels not only to himself, but also to his family, his community and of course to the institutions he studied in. Today he is the darling of the people in Pernambut and also elsewhere.

Dr. Faiz Ahmed is Co-founder at Formation Studio Assistant Professor (Ad-hoc), School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada, an institution of national importance, Government of India.

His academic qualifications:

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Anna University, School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai, India (2012-2015)

Masters In Urban and Regional Planning (MURP), University Francois, Rabelais, Tours, France ( 2010-2011)

Masters in Planning (M. Plan), Anna University, School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai, India (2009-2012)

Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch), Anna University, School of Architecture and Planning, Chennai (2004-2009)

His Personal Summary

Researcher – Built-Environment analyst Integration of 3D city models at various stages of Urban Planning processes is the essence of his research work. This integration is for efficient and dynamic planning and design of an urban spaces and it is made possible with the use of advanced spatial analytical tools like GIS, CityEngine etc.

As far as his Areas of Experience, Career History, Publications, Training Programme and Workshop, Seminar Paper Presentation, Professional Training Received, Conferences/Workshops attended, Freelance Architectural Consultancy Projects etc. are concerned, it is all in his personal profile which can be seen in the link given below:

Chennai Leather Market - January 2016

                               CHENNAI LEATHER MARKET

                                      V M Khaleelur Rahman

Chennai leather market continues to remain almost unchanged in its activities. Local tanners are cautious in their operations. Most of them have reduced their productions as demand is limited and prices available are unworkable.

It is learnt that some big exporters of leather and leather products are in the market occasionally buying their requirements of E.I. tanned goat skins at around the following prices:

5/8 sq. ft. Run Rs.90, Fifth Rs.80, Inferior Fifth Rs.70 and Loose Inf. Fifth Rs.60

There is less demand for 4/6 sq. ft. and available prices are at around Rs.65 for Run and Fifth combined whereas A and B Linings in 5/8 sq. ft. are salable at around Rs.50 and 45.

4/6 sq. ft. All Suede in on the move at around Rs. 53.

Local Rejections and Langdas are sold at around Rs.25 and 20 respectively per sq. ft.

Tanners say that they are not interested in doing big business as although the prices of raw skins are lower,  tanning charges are higher – Rs. 15 for tanned leather and Rs.20 for Crust leather per sq. ft.

RAW SKINS

Market is slow in almost all raw centres in the country. In Miraj where quality is good, goat raw skins are sold at around Rs.180/200 per piece and in other centres like Kalyan in Maharashtra at around Rs.130/140 per piece. Surprisingly in many raw centres the prices of raw goat and sheep skins are almost the same. There is much fall in the prices of sheep skins. But in Centres like Salem in Tamil Nadu the prices are much higher for both raw goat and sheep skins as quality is good.  Some reputed tanners buy only big size raw goat and sheep skins with strict inspection for which they pay high prices which depend on quality and selection.

OVERSEAS CONTRACTS

Due to Christmas and New Year holidays abroad, there was no report of any big business. During the first two weeks of December some business were reported at around almost unchanged prices. While S/C and F/C goat upper leathers were sold at around US $ 2.50, A, B and C Linings were sold at around US $ 160,150 and 140 per sq. ft. respectively.
