Discussion on NPR (National Population Register) and NRC (National Register of Citizen) is in full swing everywhere in the country. People are getting ready necessary documents like Aadhar Card, Passport, Ration Card, Voter Identity Card, Birth Certificate, Bank Pass Book, Electricity bill, LPG bill etc to be shown to the government officials when they will make door to door survey when the time comes. Good. These are all necessary precautionary measures to safeguard our interest and help government in making its schemes successful.
After reading the chaos and confusion prevailing in Assam, people belonging to all communities are in shock. Thank God Honourable home minister Mr. Amit Shah has assured that Indians who are the sons of this soil need not worry. Honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has assured Bangladesh Prime Minister Ms. Haseena that this is all internal matter of the country. There is,therefore, no need for any Indian citizen to be afraid of. Of course infiltrators have to worry whatever may be their religion.
We should not just look at the political speeches of some political leaders but seriously think what is possible.
We should also not give importance to third class street corner talks made by anti social elements senselessly in order to get support of people during elections.
The Ahle Sunnat waljamaat of Ambur is nowadays active in association with government officials to make Economic Census, NPR and NRC programmes successful if and when announced. The Jamaat in co-operation with different Mohallah Muthawallis have selected volunteers to help government officials during their door to door visits to gather information.
As far as we Muslims in Tamil Nadu are concerned, we have to mention in caste column Labbai, Rowther, Syed or any other community to which we belong and should not accept any wrong suggestion which is made in WhatsApp messages.
Following is the government approved list of Muslim Backward Classes in Tamil Nadu:
Labbais including Rowthar and Marakayar (whether their spoken language is Tamil or Urdu).
Dekkani Muslims
Mapilla.
Sheik.
Syed.
Ansar
Dudekula
I repeat again that let us not worry or fear about all this.
